BACKGROUND

I'm a brand designer and creative leader with over two decades of experience working across agency, in-house, and freelance environments. My career has taken me from the fast-paced world of New York advertising agencies to senior roles at American Express and Morgan Stanley, through seven years of independent practice serving some of the country's most recognized brands, and into my current role as Senior Brand Designer at the State Employees' Credit Union in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I started my career in New York at agencies including Y&R, C&W Creative, and DraftWorldwide, and in publishing at Macmillan and St. Martin's Press — environments that sharpened my instincts for storytelling, branding, and integrated campaign development. Those early years gave me a strong foundation in the craft of design and the discipline of meeting high creative standards under pressure.

At American Express, where I served as Design Director within the Global Advertising and Brand Management Group, I led teams of creatives, oversaw cross-channel campaigns, and developed comprehensive brand guidelines. I also built new processes that improved the performance and efficiency of the company's email marketing and servicing programs. At Morgan Stanley, as Senior Art Director, I supported both print and digital initiatives while mentoring junior designers and ensuring alignment with evolving brand standards. These roles deepened my understanding of how to scale brand systems and lead creative work that aligns with business objectives.

After relocating from New York to Delaware in 2017, I built a diverse independent practice — working with clients including Bank of America, Capital One, AbbVie, KitchenAid, George Washington University, and the City of New York. That body of work spans multichannel campaigns, brand development, packaging, websites, email, and social media. Highlights include a citywide affordable housing awareness campaign for the Mayor's Office of the City of New York, brand guidelines for KitchenAid Digital and Ellamera, and a co-branded campaign for Capital One and Spotify that ran across digital, print, and direct channels. During this period I also held an in-house contract role as Associate Creative Director at Deloitte's Green Dot Agency in Philadelphia.

I joined SECU in 2024, where I design across digital, print, social, branch signage, ATMs, and digital displays, while collaborating with leadership to refine and evolve the organization's visual identity and brand guidelines.

Throughout my career — whether leading a team, running a client engagement, or executing hands-on design work — I've brought the same approach: strategic thinking, careful craft, and a belief that great design goes beyond aesthetics. It should help organizations tell their story, communicate their values, and create meaningful connections with the people they serve.
